Offering club-quality construction and features, the Sole E95 Elliptical is an excellent option if you are interested in looking for a top-of-the-line elliptical at an affordable price. Despite offering many of the same features found on high-end ellipticals costing thousands of dollars, the Sole E95 still comes in at less than $1,700. With its vibrant backlit blue LCD readout screen and heavier flywheel, the Sole E95 Elliptical is certainly worth a second look. Below is our Sole E95 elliptical review.
Monitor Your Success with Ease with the Sole E95 Elliptical
While all Sole ellipticals feature user-friendly consoles, the Sole E95 Elliptical offers an informative LCD screen featuring a track, a heart rate graph and a message window capable of holding up to 20 characters. Offering 10 different pre-programmed programs which are capable of utilizing 20 different levels of resistance and an incline feature that can adjust from 0 to 40 degrees, you have many workout options available to select from. With the incline and resistance controls integrated into the handles, you can easily make adjustments without needing to let go or slow down your workout.
Stay Comfortable When Using the Sole E95 Elliptical
As with other Sole ellipticals, the Sole E95 Elliptical offers a number of features that are meant to make your workout more enjoyable. These include a built-in cooling fan, water bottle holder, built-in speakers and an MP3 plug-in. The Sole E95 Elliptical also comes equipped with built-in pulse sensors as well as a heart strap, making it possible to monitor your target heart rate with ease. The Sole E95 also offers a 20-inch stride and specialized pedals designed to help make your workout more comfortable while also reducing stress on the knees and ankles. In addition to featuring a 2 degree inward slope, the enlarged pedals can be adjusted to meet your exact needs. Furthermore, with its four rear-wheel system and heavy duty rails, it reduces side-to-side pedal motion while providing for smooth, fluid motion. This further helps to prevent numb toe effects, sore Achilles tendons and other negative physical effects.
Workout with Confidence with the Sole E95 Elliptical
With its 29 pound flywheel and high gear ratio, the Sole E95 Elliptical offers a durable design that is capable of accommodating users weighing up to 400 pounds. In fact, Sole is so confident in the design, materials and craftsmanship that the Sole E95 Elliptical comes with a 2 year warranty on labor, a 5 year warranty on parts and electronics, and a lifetime warranty on the brakes and frame.
I did quite a few hours of research, test drove several models in the $2000 and under price range, narrowed it down to the Sole product line. I was at Dick’s one day and they had the e35, e55 and e95 assembled and side by side. It was like mama bear, papa bear and baby bear. I started on the e35 and moved my way up. After doing about a minute of activity on each, the choice was obvious, of the three, the e95 was the smoothest, most stable and despite the price, in my opinion, the best value.
On to purchase…I learned on a forum that Sole will price match, so I found an eBay authorized Sole seller that was selling them for $200 cheaper than both Sole and Dick’s. I called Sole and they matched. I did the $99 inside the house, room of choice delivery method, so I really saved $101 and no sales tax.
The crate arrives at my house, in my home gym room. The box is huge and I can barely budge it. It took me about an hour just to unpack and discard all the packing materials. My OCD kicks in and I arrange all the pieces, parts and trinkets into seemingly neat little rows. I break out the assembly instructions like a good little consumer. Here is where things turn South. I do not know what Sole was thinking. Whom ever the technical illustrator is, is either a PhD or Rain Man. After much interpretation of the assembly diagrams and 8 hours, I had this well made, solid as a rock, piece of exercise equipment rearing to go.
All in all, this was a great buy and I am happy with the selection and purchase. If you do not have much mechanical ability, patience, time or you frustrate easily then I would think long and hard about Sole’s or another vendors delivery and assembly price. Hind sight being 20/20 I would have gladly paid a little extra to have my Saturday back.
After much research (reading and trying out), I decided this was the machine to get. The Sole E95 at this price point offers features and quality found in much more expensive ellipticals.
I’ve had the machine over two months now and it is very sturdy (rated for 400lbs) and very quiet. I have no regrets and the elliptical comes with a very good warranty.
Every place sells it for pretty much the same price so I bought it locally at Dick’s. I also had them put it together and I’m glad I did. It cost just a little over $100 for delivery and installation and it took them just 1/2 hour to put it together. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend spending the few extra dollars for this unit over a cheaper competing model.
UPDATE: 08/30/11 I have the machine now for over six months. I use it every other day and so far it still works great. All I’ve had to do is keep the tracks clean and lubed. It is still smooth and relatively noiseless. Still very happy with this purchase.
